Oasis has taken legal action against former sound engineer Huw Richards and his son over a proposed auction of previously unreleased recordings. The sale has been postponed for now, Nieuws.nl reports. [1]
The collection is reported to include recordings from 63 concerts, soundchecks and more than 100 hours of material involving Noel and Liam Gallagher from the 1990s. Richards collected the recordings while working for Oasis between 1994 and 2001. Their estimated value is £1.2 million to £1.6 million. [1]
Nieuws.nl, citing BBC reporting, says Littleton Auctions promoted the planned sale to fans and collectors while acknowledging that Oasis did not support it. [1]
Other Oasis items, including a guitar and a tour jacket, are still due to be auctioned despite the delay to the recordings’ sale. [1]
