A technical fault has cut Italy’s air traffic capacity, with some flights from Rome, Naples and Milan arriving late at Schiphol.
Review information is loading.
A technical fault in Italy’s air traffic control system has reduced the number of flights the country can handle, causing delays at Schiphol as well as in Italy, the Italian air traffic control authority ENAV says. [1]
The problem emerged overnight from Thursday to Friday. An emergency system is being used, but ENAV says it cannot manage the full flight capacity. Some flights from Rome, Naples and Milan have reached Schiphol between 45 minutes and more than two hours late. The report said no cancellations had been reported. [1]
ENAV said sabotage had been ruled out and that it was working to identify the underlying causes and restore the system fully. [1]
