Speaking at a press conference in Zeist on 3 October, Netherlands international Denzel Dumfries said the goals his side have conceded had become a topic within the squad. He said they needed to defend their goal more consistently, but offered no single explanation, noting that every match is different. His remarks were reported by ANP in a dispatch carried by Nieuws.nl. [1]
The Netherlands last kept a clean sheet in a 4–0 win over Lithuania on 17 November 2025. They have conceded in each of their 11 matches since, although the number of goals let in has varied. Those results include a 5–1 win over Sweden and a 2–2 draw with Greece. [1]
