Delhaize customers in Belgium can order groceries online again after the supermarket chain restored its online service following an IT incident that also affected its Dutch sister chain, Albert Heijn. Albert Heijn was still unable to take online orders on Saturday, 17 October, according to its spokeswoman. [1]
Delhaize’s service was fully operational again, the Belgian news agency Belga reported. Delhaize-affiliated supermarkets had already been able to send in orders themselves since Friday. [1]
Ahold Delhaize, the parent company of both chains, shut down websites, apps, services and customer support as a precaution after the incident the previous weekend. Albert Heijn said home deliveries of online orders would remain suspended through Tuesday, and customers could not place new orders during that period. [1]
