Italy beat Turkey 4–1 in Bursa on Monday, 28 September, securing their first win of the Nations League group stage after missing that summer’s World Cup. Alessandro Bastoni put Italy ahead in the ninth minute. Davide Frattesi then scored from the rebound of a shot by debutant Michael Kayode, who added Italy’s third five minutes later. [1]
Barış Alper Yılmaz pulled a goal back for Turkey shortly after half-time, but Pio Esposito headed in Italy’s fourth. Yılmaz later had another goal ruled out for offside. [1]
