Speaking to BBC Sport on 28 September, Ferguson said he had thought seriously about his future after the World Cup, but a move away from Bologna had never been close. Reports had linked the Scotland midfielder with Rangers. [1]
Playing for Rangers remains a childhood dream, Ferguson said, but he did not want to discuss a possible move while he is a Bologna player. He said it might happen one day, or it might not. [1]
For now, Ferguson says he wants to continue at Bologna. He is under contract until 2028, with an option for another year, and has played every minute of the club’s first five Serie A matches this season. [1]
