Soundos El Ahmadi has defended *Got Talent* after criticism of its television ratings, arguing that linear viewing figures do not reflect how many people watch the show later. “Stop hating,” the comedian said on Saturday at the premiere of the musical *Cabaret*, speaking to RTL Boulevard, according to Nieuws.nl. [1]
Ratings analyst Tina Nijkamp had earlier described the current season as the programme’s worst ever. The RTL 4 show averaged 670,000 linear viewers last Friday, Nieuws.nl reported, citing figures from the Netherlands’ National Media Research organisation (NMO). [1]
El Ahmadi said younger viewers no longer watch much television live and pointed to catch-up viewing. She cited the previous week’s figures: an average of 691,000 linear viewers, rising to 879,000 when additional viewing was included. Those catch-up figures are published a week later, the report said. [1]
She called the programme “a hit” and said she was tired of the negative coverage. [1]
