Denmark’s king and queen are preparing to welcome Vietnam’s president for a three-day state visit focused on cooperation between the two countries.

King Frederik and Queen Mary are due to host Vietnamese President To Lam and his wife, Ngo Phuong Ly, from 19 to 21 October. The Danish court announced the planned state visit, Nieuws.nl reported on 1 October. It is intended to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. [1]
Green solutions and international and economic cooperation are expected to feature in the visit. Denmark and Vietnam are marking 55 years of diplomatic relations in 2026. The official programme is to be announced later. [1]
Frederik and Mary last visited Vietnam in 2022. Frederik’s late father, Prince Henrik, spent part of his childhood in Hanoi. [1]
