Dutch Prime Minister Jetten is scheduled to visit the 1 German-Netherlands Corps in Münster on 1 October 2026 with German Chancellor Merz and NATO Secretary-General Rutte, the Dutch government has announced. The visit will include bilateral talks on defence, support for Ukraine and closer Dutch–German cooperation. [1]
The corps is a NATO headquarters that plans and directs land operations. Germany and the Netherlands provide personnel to the unit. [1]
Jetten and Merz are due to discuss strengthening cooperation between their countries and within the EU and NATO. Their announced agenda also includes migration, competitiveness, the future EU budget and countering hybrid threats. [1]
