The Young Vic is set to stage *The Pelicot Trial* at London’s County Hall on 30 November 2026, with an online stream also planned. The BBC reports that 30 actors and public figures will take part, including O’Donnell, Hesmondhalgh, Andoh and Outhwaite. [1]
The four-hour production draws on documents from the French trial and psychiatric reports concerning men prosecuted in the case, according to the BBC. The Young Vic describes it as documentary theatre built from testimony and written accounts, and says it pays tribute to Gisèle Pelicot. [1]
Dominique Pelicot was jailed for 20 years for drugging and raping his then wife and allowing 50 other men to rape her while she was unconscious. [1]
The production premiered in Vienna in 2025 and has since toured to cities including Avignon, New York, Lisbon, Milan and Bergen, according to the BBC. The London performance is a one-off staging, not the play’s premiere. [1]
