Police say advances in CCTV technology have made it possible to revisit footage from Putney Bridge station, 27 years after Jill Dando was killed.

The Metropolitan Police is re-examining original CCTV footage from Putney Bridge station as part of its investigation into the murder of television presenter Jill Dando. In a statement reported by Brit Brief, the force said advances in CCTV enhancement technology had made another examination possible. The work is ongoing. [1]
Dando was shot outside her home in Fulham, south-west London, on 26 April 1999. Police said the investigation had undergone several reviews in the years since, including reviews prompted by developments in technology and forensics. [1]
The footage includes an unidentified man. Brit Brief reports that a motorist picked him out as someone she had seen running, but detectives discounted her account because they considered her description inconsistent with the man in the footage. [1]
Barry George, who spent eight years in prison for Dando’s murder, was acquitted at a retrial in 2008. The case was placed on inactive status after a forensic review in 2015. [1]
