Adam Driver says Kylo Ren’s Star Wars story is over after film idea rejected

Adam Driver says he believes his time playing Kylo Ren in Star Wars is over after Disney executives rejected his idea for a film centred on the character, according to a report by Nieuws.nl.

“We tried, but they said he was dead,” Driver said on The Rich Eisen Show, referring to Disney bosses Bob Iger and Alan Bergman. He said the project had been scrapped and added: “It’s over, no more Star Wars.”

Driver played Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019). The character, whose real name was Ben Solo, died in the final film.

Asked about the possibility of reviving the film project, Driver said: “I think the ship has sailed. If they want it, fine. But it’s not up to us.” He also said he had been surprised by fans’ campaign last year, which included billboards and planes carrying banners urging Disney to make the film.
