Police in Almelo asked residents to stay alert after four car fires were reported at different locations in the Dutch city within half an hour on Saturday night.
The police sent an alert through the Burgernet neighbourhood network at 23:45, asking people with information about the fires to come forward. About half an hour later, they thanked residents for “keeping an eye out and sharing the information”, according to Dutch broadcaster RTV Oost, cited by ANP.
The fires were reported on M.TH. Steynstraat, Bornerbroeksestraat, Platanenstraat and Van Loghemstraat. Police have not said whether the incidents were connected.
