Tallon Griekspoor came from a set down to beat Francisco Cerúndolo in the European Open semi-final in Brussels, securing his second ATP final of the year. The Dutchman won 2–6, 6–3, 7–6 (4) and will face either Arthur Fils or Jan-Lennard Struff in Sunday’s final, according to ANP.
Griekspoor, ranked 60th, struggled early on the indoor court, losing his second and third service games as Cerúndolo took the opening set. He received brief medical assistance after the set to obtain medication, the report said.
He recovered in the second, breaking for a 5–3 lead before taking the set at his second opportunity. In the decider, Cerúndolo broke to lead in the eighth game, but Griekspoor broke back immediately. Griekspoor then edged the tie-break to complete the comeback.
The 30-year-old reached the Dubai final in February but withdrew because of injury. He has won three ATP titles in his career.
