Alfonso Cuarón says directing *Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban* gave him two of the best years of his life. He made the remarks at the Busan film festival in South Korea, according to a Nieuws.nl report published on 9 October [1].
Cuarón said he had initially been apprehensive about taking on the project, but now looked back on it warmly. He said he had learnt a great deal while making the film, particularly about visual effects, which he had known little about beforehand.
He also linked the experience to *Children of Men*. Cuarón said he had already written that film, but nobody wanted to make it. After directing *Harry Potter*, he said, he was able to make *Children of Men*. He expressed gratitude for what the earlier project had brought him.
