Stellantis plans to halt production at its Sochaux factory in eastern France from 23 to 30 October 2026, citing a shortage of batteries for long-range vehicles. The plant builds Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs. [1]
Production at its Rennes factory is also scheduled to stop from 22 to 30 October, particularly affecting the Citroën C5 Aircross. Stellantis says demand for long-range electric models exceeds supply and that it is temporarily adjusting production to avoid building up stocks of cars that do not match customer preferences. [1]
A separate two-week pause is planned at Stellantis’s Mulhouse factory in late October. The company linked that decision to weaker-than-expected demand for the Peugeot 308, rather than to the battery shortage. [1]
