Two Latvian men have been arrested under the National Security Act on suspicion of trespass at RAF Molesworth in Cambridgeshire, the BBC reports. A breach in the base’s perimeter fence was found during a search following a security alert. [1]
A Ministry of Defence Police patrol spotted an abandoned vehicle at about 22:00 BST on Wednesday. Searches by the force and Cambridgeshire Constabulary found a small breach in the fence a few hours later. A spokesperson quoted by the BBC said the men, aged 36 and 32, were arrested inside the base perimeter. [1]
The BBC’s account does not establish who left the vehicle or made the breach, or say whether either man has been charged.
