Dutch industrial activity continued to grow strongly in October, with production among the fastest-growing in more than four and a half years, according to purchasing managers’ association Nevi. Its monthly index eased from September but remained firmly in growth territory at 55.0.
A reading above 50 indicates improving conditions in the manufacturing sector; a figure below 50 signals contraction. Nevi’s survey tracks new orders, production, employment, delivery times and stocks of purchased materials.
The report said Dutch industrial production had picked up this year, alongside strong performance by chip-equipment maker ASML and other high-tech firms amid the rise of artificial intelligence. Statistics Netherlands had also reported increased production. In September, Nevi said production rose at its fastest pace in nearly four years, citing stronger demand and a sharp increase in orders.
