Willem II have brought Jurgen Streppel back as head coach, tasking the 57-year-old with keeping the Tilburg club in the Eredivisie after a poor start to the season. He has signed a contract until the end of the campaign, the club announced.
Streppel previously led Willem II from 2011 to 2016. He replaces John Stegeman, who was sacked last week. The club are bottom of the Eredivisie.
“I know Willem II well and had five good years there,” Streppel said on the club’s website. “I’m aware there is a sporting challenge. That is precisely why I’m taking it on.”
Adrie Koster was in interim charge on Saturday, when Willem II lost 6-1 at home to SC Cambuur.
