A 102-year-old woman died in flooding in south-eastern Spain, regional authorities said. Firefighters found her body in her home, where the water had risen to more than a metre. [1]
Heavy rain hit Madrigueras, in the Castile-La Mancha region, on Friday, leaving cars floating through its streets. At least 90 people were rescued during a major operation. Authorities said 142 litres of rain per square metre fell in the town, which has nearly 5,000 residents. [1]
Heavy rain also fell over a short period in other parts of south-eastern and north-eastern Spain. [1]
