Real Madrid has demanded that Javier Tebas step down from his roles in Spanish football after the La Liga president compared the club’s communications with Nazi propaganda techniques.

Real Madrid have called for La Liga president Javier Tebas to resign after he compared the club’s communications and television channel to propaganda methods used by Nazi Germany’s Joseph Goebbels.
Tebas made the comparison in a post on X, accusing the club’s management of directing “an orchestra of mouthpieces” and Real Madrid TV of repeating grievances, feeding suspicion and identifying enemies. He said the approach recalled techniques used by Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s propaganda minister.
Tebas later clarified that he was comparing the club’s communications with “those propaganda techniques”, not with Nazi ideology, BBC Sport reported. Real Madrid rejected the clarification, describing his remarks as “deeply offensive” and “morally repugnant”.
The club demanded his “immediate resignation” as both La Liga president and vice-president of the Spanish Football Association. It said the comparison was “absolutely intolerable and extraordinarily serious” and argued that Tebas’s explanation did not make the statements acceptable. [1]
The dispute comes amid a series of clashes between Tebas and Real Madrid. He criticised the club last month after it alleged a refereeing conspiracy, and has previously opposed its European Super League plans.
