Police fired several shots in Someren, in the Dutch province of North Brabant, overnight on 25–26 September after a car was driven towards an officer. Two suspects from Poland, aged 24 and 41, were arrested. Police said nobody was injured. [1]
Officers had first responded to a reported threat in nearby Asten, possibly involving a firearm. They later found the suspects’ car in Someren and ordered its occupants to get out, firing a warning shot. Both fled on foot and one was quickly arrested. [1]
The other suspect returned to the car and drove away. Police said an officer narrowly avoided being hit and then fired several shots. The car continued on, but the second suspect was arrested later. [1]
The officer is filing a complaint alleging attempted manslaughter. The shooting followed an earlier warning shot as police tried to stop the car’s occupants. [1]
