England will face a Western Australia XI at the Waca on 7 November, adding a 50-over warm-up before their white-ball tour of Australia.

The match against a Western Australia XI is scheduled for 7 November at the Waca, six days before the first of three one-day internationals at Perth’s Optus Stadium. England will also play five T20s in Australia, with the tour running from 13 November to 2 December. The warm-up is not an official ODI. [1]
Coach Brendon McCullum said in September that he wanted warm-up matches to help players get up to speed before the 2027 50-over World Cup. He pointed to a lack of experience in the side beyond Jos Buttler, Joe Root and Adil Rashid. With Buttler and Rashid injured for the third ODI against Sri Lanka, Root was the only player in that particular England XI with more than 50 caps, according to BBC Sport. [1]
England had not played a white-ball tour warm-up for six years, BBC Sport reports. Before the previous winter’s Ashes, they held one in-house match at Lilac Hill. The England and Wales Cricket Board said at the time that it had been told the Waca was unavailable. [1]
