LIV Golf has lined up possible financing for its 2027 season, but the $300m arrangement still needs bankruptcy court approval.

LIV Golf has lined up a possible $300m in financing from BC Partners Credit as it tries to prepare for a 2027 season. The arrangement still needs bankruptcy court approval and must meet other customary conditions, BBC Sport reports. [1]
The league filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States in September after Saudi Arabia withdrew multibillion-dollar funding. It hopes to complete its court-supervised restructuring in early 2027. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is separately providing a $49.6m bankruptcy loan to help fund that process, according to BBC Sport. [1]
BC Partners Credit says its proposed funding would support a structure in which players become equity owners of LIV Golf and its teams. BBC Sport also reports that 14 current and former players among the league’s 30 largest unsecured creditors are owed just over $45m. A person familiar with the figures told the broadcaster that this represents unpaid amounts for the third quarter of 2026, not their full contractual entitlements. [1]
The arrangement extends LIV Golf’s talks with players until 25 October. BBC Sport says they are not obliged to sign up for the proposed next phase, even if they previously had multiyear contracts. It remains unclear how much of the $300m the league needs to start its 2027 schedule or which players would take part. [1]
