Everton dropped Jack Grealish from their Carabao Cup squad after he missed training, putting further pressure on the winger to re-establish himself at the club.

Jack Grealish has been dropped from Everton’s squad after missing training, a disciplinary breach that adds pressure to the England winger as he tries to revive his career at the club.
Everton excluded the 31-year-old from their Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle, publicly describing the reason as “a breach of club discipline”. BBC Sport reports that Grealish failed to turn up for training on Monday. Manager David Moyes declined to give details after Everton’s 3-1 win, saying it was a club decision that he supported.
Grealish has spoken of wanting to stay at Everton, where he spent much of last season on loan from Manchester City before a foot fracture ended his campaign in January. He is back at the club on loan this season, but has yet to score or provide an assist in eight appearances across Everton and City, according to BBC Sport.
The absence comes as Everton prepare for a Carabao Cup quarter-final against League Two side Fleetwood Town. BBC Sport says the club does not regard this incident as Grealish’s final chance, but the breach leaves him needing to regain the trust of the club and supporters. Everton’s win over Newcastle also saw 20-year-old Tyrique George play on the left flank, a position Grealish might otherwise have occupied.
The episode follows an earlier disciplinary incident this season: Everton left Grealish out of their Newcastle tie after citing a breach of club discipline.
