Senegal’s Coly Seck was elected chair of the UN General Assembly’s Fourth Committee on 2 June, the UN said in a biographical note published on 1 October. The committee is also known as the Special Political and Decolonization Committee. [1]
Seck served as Senegal’s permanent representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva from October 2016 to August 2024. He also chaired the UN Human Rights Council throughout 2019. [1]
