AI ANALYSIS & OPINION
Editorial illustrationThe 22 October appeal bundled previously announced support on Florida’s postal-ballot request deadline, directing voters to a partisan planning website with a text-message sign-up.

President Donald Trump has renewed his backing for 28 Republican candidates in Florida, bringing existing endorsements together in a turnout appeal 12 days before the 3 November 2026 election. State election records list all 28 for the offices and districts he named.
The 22 October Truth Social post, preserved by the Trump’s Truth archive, names Ashley Moody for the US Senate, Byron Donalds for governor, James Uthmeier for state attorney general and Wilton Simpson for agriculture commissioner, alongside 24 candidates for the US House of Representatives. Trump gives them his “Complete and Total Endorsement”.
All 28 had already received his public backing. A USA TODAY Network roundup published on 14 August listed 20 of the names, while Florida’s Voice reported support for the remaining eight on 1 September.
That history includes an earlier change of candidate in the 19th congressional district. Trump had backed Catalina Lauf before she lost the 18 August Republican primary. He endorsed the winner, Jim Schwartzel, on 1 September—well before including him in the October appeal.
The list is not a complete Republican slate. It covers 24 of Florida’s 27 Republican House nominees, leaving out Brent Andersen in the 20th district, Deborah Adeimy in the 23rd and Te Mayonna Brown in the 24th. Blaise Ingoglia, the party’s candidate for state chief financial officer, is also absent. The post gives no reason for those omissions and announces no withdrawal of support.
The appeal fell on Florida’s deadline to request a ballot be sent by post. The state’s mandatory early-voting period runs from 24 to 31 October, although counties can offer additional days.
Comparable candidate lists for California and Idaho appeared the same day, according to the trump.fm archive, using the same endorsement wording and links to state pages on Swamp the Vote USA. The wider party objective was explicit in September, when Florida Republican chairman Evan Power told Florida’s Voice it was ready to “flip seats to protect the majority” in the US House.
The Florida message also came ahead of a planned campaign appearance by Donalds alongside Trump. Donalds’ spokesman, Gates McAvick, told WUSF on 22 October that the candidate was due to speak at Trump’s Fort Myers rally on 23 October.
The renewed appeal links candidate support to both voting guidance and a campaign sign-up. Swamp the Vote USA urges Republicans to “keep Florida red” and offers a form for personalised voting options, asking for a name, home address, email and mobile number. Its notice says providing a phone number joins a recurring text-messaging programme, with an option to opt out at any time.
