Speaking during the Dutch parliament’s general political debate, Luc Stultiens said PRO’s support for the Social Affairs budget did not mean the party would support cuts to education or healthcare. Opposition parties including SP, DENK and BBB had pressed PRO to clarify its position, fearing that cuts could still affect those services. [1]
ANP reported, citing coalition agreements described by NOS, that D66, VVD and CDA want cuts to education if negotiations on social security deliver too little. That reported condition concerns education; it does not set out a plan for healthcare cuts. [1]
Stultiens said PRO wanted a deal covering the whole budget, rather than treating its support for the Social Affairs budget as a commitment to other cuts. [1]
