Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited a children’s hospice in Ipswich on Thursday, joining a music lesson and meeting children and their families as the centre undergoes an expansion. The visit highlighted the work of The Treehouse hospice and plans to add facilities for children receiving care there.
During her visit, Catherine also toured the building site wearing a hard hat and high-visibility vest. The expansion is set to include a therapy pool, additional bedrooms and a dedicated space for teenagers.
The Treehouse cares for children with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions and supports their families. Catherine has been patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, the organisation behind the centre, for more than 14 years. She opened The Treehouse in 2012.
