Speaking at a Zurich Film Festival masterclass on Sunday, John Turturro said he was surprised by the positive reaction to his new film, *The Only Living Pickpocket in New York*, in which he stars. He had received the Golden Eye career award the previous day, Nieuws.nl reported. [1]
The 69-year-old actor said he was pleased to be in a film that people would see. Nieuws.nl also reported that US media had raised the possibility of his first Oscar nomination. Turturro welcomed the recognition, but said it was not why he worked. He added that a film’s popularity did not necessarily mean it would have lasting success. [1]
Turturro described himself as uncompetitive, though eager to keep improving. He also said his *Severance* character, Irving Bailiff, would appear in the show’s third season. [1]
*The Only Living Pickpocket in New York* premiered at Sundance and is due in US cinemas in late October. A release in the Netherlands is expected in November. [1]
