Dutch investment in tangible fixed assets rose 1.8% year on year in August, with higher spending on machinery, computers and buildings, Statistics Netherlands says.
Review information is loading.
The volume of investment in tangible fixed assets in the Netherlands was 1.8% higher in August 2026 than a year earlier, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Investment rose in machinery, including defence equipment, computers and buildings. [1]
The increase followed year-on-year growth of 0.2% in July. The figures are not adjusted for working days; August had the same number of working days in 2026 as in 2025. CBS said conditions for investment in September were as unfavourable as in August. It noted that goods-export growth slowed, while manufacturers’ assessment of their order books and consumer confidence became less negative. [1]
CBS cautions that its investment indicators are related to fixed-asset investment, but improving conditions do not necessarily mean faster growth or a smaller decline. The August figures are provisional and may be revised. [1]
