Heracles Almelo beat Roda JC 5-1 on Friday to extend their lead at the top of the Dutch Eerste Divisie, while second-placed VVV-Venlo drew 1-1 with Jong PSV.
Heracles now have 35 points after 14 matches, six clear of VVV on 29. Tristan van Gilst scored three times and Jean-Paul N’Djoli added two goals in the win.
Van Gilst opened the scoring in the seventh minute after a mistake by Roda goalkeeper Justin Treichel. Roda captain Anthony van den Hurk equalised from the penalty spot two minutes later, but N’Djoli scored twice before half-time. Van Gilst added one more after the break, with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.
