Lucinda Brand has won her second European cyclocross title after officials relegated Marie Schreiber for deviating from her line in the sprint finish in Zeddam.
Review information is loading.
Lucinda Brand was awarded the European cyclocross title in Zeddam after race officials relegated Marie Schreiber from first to second for deviating from her line in the sprint. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado finished third.
Schreiber crossed the line first after entering the finishing straight ahead of Brand, with Alvarado behind following a fall. The jury changed the result after deciding Schreiber had moved slightly to the left, forcing Brand to slow. Brand, who also won the title in 2021, has now claimed it for a second time.
Schreiber would have been the first non-Dutch winner after eight consecutive Dutch European champions.
