A Test Match Special panel has selected ten scandals from Test cricket’s history for a BBC Sport reader vote. Readers are being asked to rank the choices by how big they were; the panel has not put them in order. [1]
The vote comes ahead of Australia’s first Test tour of South Africa since the 2018 ball-tampering scandal known as “sandpapergate”. BBC Sport says the tour begins on 9 October. [1]
During the 2018 tour, Cameron Bancroft and then-captain Steve Smith admitted trying to alter the ball’s condition. Bancroft was found to have used sandpaper; he, Smith and David Warner later served bans from playing for Australia. BBC Sport says the vote results will be revealed on the Test Match Special podcast.
