Alexander Zverev beat China's Shang Juncheng 6-0, 6-3 in the second round of the China Open in Beijing on Saturday. The German is due to play Novak Djokovic in Sunday's quarter-final. [1]
ANP listed Zverev as world No 2 and Djokovic as world No 11. It reported that Djokovic had won the Beijing tournament on all six of his previous appearances. [1]
Zverev could also have a chance to narrow the rankings gap to Jannik Sinner. ANP reported that the world No 1 was recovering from a knee injury and had withdrawn from next week's Shanghai Masters. [1]
