Canadian officials say there is no indication that a major fire at a military base in Alberta was caused by terrorism. The fire at the base in Wainwright left people dead and injured, but authorities have not disclosed how many were affected.[1]
Defence Minister David McGuinty told CBC News on Sunday that nothing pointed to a terrorist attack. Canada’s Department of National Defence had issued a similar statement earlier, according to ANP.[1]
McGuinty said the impact was still being assessed and that the priority was helping those affected and informing their families. The incident was reported on Saturday evening.[1]
