Dutch presenter Tim Hofman and his programme *BOOS* have denied an allegation that he struck a woman during filming. The programme has released a video clip, but the woman says the blow she alleges is not shown in it.
Hofman denied hitting anyone when Shownieuws asked him about the accusation on 22 October. The following day, *BOOS* posted its own denial alongside footage of the encounter, according to Nieuws.nl and Shownieuws.
The allegation was circulated by gossip account RealityFBI, which said it had seen a police complaint. Socialnieuws, reporting the account’s posts, said the woman alleged that Hofman struck her right arm with an open hand during a *BOOS* recording, causing pain and a bruise. Mediacourant later reported that RTL Boulevard journalist Jermaine Ellenkamp also said he had seen the complaint. The reported complaint is not a finding that an assault took place.
Nieuws.nl and Shownieuws describe the released clip as showing a woman taking hold of Hofman’s arm and him telling her not to touch him; neither reports seeing a striking motion in that footage. Mediacourant, however, says the woman maintains that the alleged blow is not in the published clip. The clip therefore cannot settle what happened outside it.
Shownieuws says *BOOS* plans to address the matter in a full episode on 3 November.
