Odido chief executive Søren Abildgaard is stepping down after nearly 10 years in the role, with longtime company executive Tisha van Lammeren set to succeed him.
Abildgaard oversaw the telecoms company’s transition from T-Mobile Netherlands to Odido. The company said in 2023 that the rebrand also involved converting almost 120 shops. Odido has about eight million customers.
His departure follows a cyberattack in early February in which criminals obtained personal data belonging to more than six million customers. Odido was criticised for providing limited information after the breach. Speaking at a conference last month, Abildgaard said: “If you are silent, explain why. I don’t think I did that well enough.”
Van Lammeren has worked for Odido and its predecessor companies for more than 20 years and already held a senior management role.
