Linda de Mol says she is continually weighing how long *Gooische Vrouwen* should continue, and hopes the Dutch television series will end while viewers still enjoy it.
“I’m constantly in doubt,” the actor, who plays Cheryl Morero, told AD, according to Nieuws.nl. “Everyone likes it so much now, so why stop?” She said she would not want the show to run until viewers began to lose interest.
De Mol said ending the series would not necessarily mean the end of the franchise. If the show does finish, she and her colleagues intend to make a third film, she said, adding that its storylines would need to fit together and that this could happen only after the series had definitively ended. She called the prospect “something to look forward to”.
*Gooische Vrouwen* returned in 2024 after a 15-year break, with De Mol, Susan Visser, Tjitske Reidinga and Lies Visschedijk reprising their roles. The eighth season recently appeared on streaming service Videoland and is due to air weekly on SBS6 from November.
De Mol has also said that broadcasters commissioned scripts for a ninth season, conditional on the eighth season attracting good viewing figures, as previously reported.
