Nicolas Cage says he is staying in hotels after a sinkhole opened near his Malibu home in September, forcing him to leave the property.
“I’m a little bit homeless right now,” the actor said at Los Angeles Comic Con, according to Nieuws.nl. He said the incident had affected his house and that he was now staying in hotels.
The sinkhole appeared on 8 September beside the driveway. Nieuws.nl reports it was about 7.6 metres deep and 18 by nine metres wide. Residents of 31 nearby homes were evacuated.
The cause has not been established. Nieuws.nl says it may be connected to a severe storm that brought flooding and high waves to Southern California in early September.
