Manchester United midfielder Ella Toone and Arsenal forward Chloe Kelly have been left out of England’s 23-player squad for October’s World Cup play-off against Greece. Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones and Arsenal players Lotte Wubben-Moy and Taylor Hinds also miss out. [1]

Chelsea midfielder Lexi Potter, 20, has her first senior call-up, while uncapped midfielder Erica Meg Parkinson, 18, is back in the squad. London City Lionesses forward Freya Godfrey and Liverpool defender Grace Fisk are the other uncapped selections. [1]
England face Greece in Crete on 9 October and in Leicester on 13 October. Victory over the two legs would take them into the second play-off round, where they could compete for a place at the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. [1]
