The Netherlands have begun preparing for Thursday’s Nations League match against Greece with a reduced squad after three players returned to their clubs injured.

Coach Xavi Hernández had 24 players available for Tuesday’s session in Zeist, which was held behind closed doors. Brian Brobbey, Cody Gakpo and Lutsharel Geertruida have returned to their clubs after suffering injuries during the international period. Hernández called up Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee as a replacement for Brobbey but made no other additions for the three departing players. [1]
Midfielder Gjivai Zechiël trained with the senior squad for the first time since last Wednesday. He had temporarily joined the Netherlands’ under-21 side, which drew 0–0 with Norway’s under-21s in a European Championship qualifier on Friday. [1]
The Netherlands are scheduled to train again in Zeist at 11.30am on Wednesday before travelling to Thessaloniki that afternoon for Thursday’s match, their third in the Nations League. [1]
