SC Cambuur’s abandoned match against Go Ahead Eagles will not be replayed, the Dutch football association KNVB has decided, leaving Cambuur with a 4-0 win.
The KNVB said its professional football competition board had agreed the decision with both clubs, citing the score and the limited playing time remaining. The board will treat the score when the match was stopped as the final result.
The game in Leeuwarden was permanently abandoned in the 81st minute after a second round of firework bangs was heard. The KNVB said the bangs came from the section occupied by Go Ahead supporters.
The match had already been suspended once after fireworks were heard, then restarted before being stopped for good. Cambuur’s 4-0 lead and the two stoppages were reported earlier.
