Anglian Water has scheduled two drop-in sessions at the Diamond Jubilee Town Hall in Kirton in Lindsey on Wednesday 30 September, from 13:00 to 15:00 and 16:00 to 18:30 BST. The company says it wants to hear how residents were affected and what it could have done better. [1]
The outage left 36,000 customers in Scunthorpe and surrounding areas without water or with low pressure, including about 1,800 in Kirton in Lindsey. Anglian Water says two burst pipes stopped water flowing into a local storage reservoir. Some schools and businesses closed, while a bottled-water collection point was set up at Scunthorpe United’s stadium. [1]
Customers who lost their water supply are due to receive £50 in compensation, BBC News reported. [1]
