Belgium’s Princess Elisabeth is being honoured with new postage stamps and a commemorative coin to mark her 25th birthday. The stamp features a black-and-white portrait of the heir to the throne, while the Royal Mint’s gold coin is the first official coin to bear her likeness.
Bpost’s stamps use a portrait released on Sunday, with designer Myriam Voz adding gold details. Voz said the gold printing gave the stamp and its sheet a royal look and highlighted Elisabeth’s future as Belgium’s first reigning queen.
Elisabeth has previously appeared on stamps in 2002, in 2016 alongside her family, and in 2019 for her 18th birthday. The new coin, designed by the Royal Mint of Belgium, has a face value of €12.50 and shows King Philippe on the reverse.
